Salary Range: $47,042.32 – $63,266.69

 

Job Summary

Provides professional accounting services in a specific, technical, sensitive, and confidential nature.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Analyzes, monitors, and reconciles funds, accounts and capital projects

Prepares journal entries and reconciles bank accounts, in addition to various general ledger and subsidiary accounts

Participates in the annual budget preparation process; budgetary monitoring and control

Prepares and calculates payments for financial processing and participates in financial audits

 

Education/Experience/Qualifications

Minimum of four years accounting and two years governmental accounting

Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration from an accredited college or university preferred

Proficiency in the operation of various computer software systems

Ability to generate and prepare reports

Ability to interpret governmental regulations and procedures

Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting and auditing principles, theories, practices and procedures

Highly attentive to details

Ability to exercise good judgment, follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision

Exercises exceptional technical judgment to ensure accurate and timely accounting of financial transactions

 

Physical Requirements

Clear vision and hearing, including the ability to communicate effectively in various environments

 

Other

May be required to work on religious holidays

Regular and predictable attendance is required

Must work cooperatively with others

When position requires vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by Dorchester’s safe driving policy
