The current County Charter includes a requirement that at least every 10 years the County Council will appoint a Charter Review Commission for the purpose of reviewing the Charter in full and submitting recommendations to the County Council.
At its February 7, 2023 meeting, the County Council agreed to reconvene the Charter Review Commission prior to the 2024 Election to consider changing the residency requirement of the Finance Director and the County Manager. The Commission is not precluded from reviewing other provisions of the County Charter.
