On March 20, 2025, the Dorchester County Council’s Office received a complaint against a number of County employees related to an alleged incident that had occurred earlier that day at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections.

Based on the nature of the allegations, the Dorchester County Council’s Office immediately contacted the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office to have the matter reviewed to determine if a criminal investigation is warranted.

Currently, an active investigation by the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office is underway and no further information may be released at this time.
