The Burial Sites Preservation Board is authorized by Chapter 63 of the County Code and is not district appointed. 

Membership:

The board shall have a voting membership of not more than nine and not less than three voting members. The board may designate or appoint an unlimited member of ex officio, and other nonvoting advisors. Members must be a County resident.

Term: 

4 years (can serve no more than 3 consecutive terms)

Meetings: 

Meetings are open to the public and held in Room 110, Dorchester County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Duties:

To foster the protection and preservation of burial sites, cemeteries, burial grounds and funerary objects in Dorchester County, including trees, shrubs, and plantings located thereat. To respond to complaints of alleged violations of County and state burial site protection laws.
