Building Code Appeals Board

The Building Code Appeals Board is authorized by Chapter 65 of the Dorchester County Code. Appointments are non-district and appointed by the County Council.

Membership

The board consists of 5 members; one member must have experience as electrical contractor, one member must have experience as a plumbing contractor, and three members must have experience as building contractors

Term

4 years running concurrent with County Council members terms

Meetings

No specific meeting schedule, meet as needed

Stipend

$35 per meeting

Duties

Hear and decide appeals from decisions of the Board of Electrical Examiners and from decisions of the Code Official under this chapter
