This position is responsible for managing the County’s Tourism Department. This position performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in order to promote and develop tourism in the County. This position is also responsible for overseeing all functions pertaining to the Visitor’s Center. Proficiency in computer skills with knowledge of word processing, outlook, data base software and excel spreadsheets is critical to this position.
This position reports directly to the County Manager. There may be direction given by the County Council.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor’s degree in business, management, hospitality services or related field.
(Experience in business, tourism, management or hospitality services at a management level may be substituted on a year to year basis)
Experience: Previous experience in the hospitality industry, administration, tourism, or other applicable related field.
(Education, such as a college degree in a related field, may be substituted for experience on a year to year basis)
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications and other Special Requirements
A valid Maryland Driver’s License
