REVISION TO DORCHESTER COUNTY’S TEN-YEAR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Dorchester County Department of Public Works, in accordance with the process provided in Annotated Code of Maryland, Environment Article 9- 1704, is proposing a resolution to revise the County’s existing Ten-Year Solid Waste Management Plan to address interim steps for the County to meet its required 20 percent recycling rate by 2025. A draft revision to the Plan (hereafter, Draft Plan) has been tentatively approved by the Maryland Department of the Environment. A Public Hearing on the Draft Plan is scheduled for 6.05 PM on October 5th, 2021 in Room 110 of the County Office Building, located at 501 Court Lane Cambridge, MD 21613. Beginning September 14th, a copy of the Draft Plan will be available for review between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at the office of the Department of Public Works, 5435 Handley Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. A digital copy of the Draft Plan will also be available upon request by emailing email@example.com. Written comments concerning the Draft Plan will be accepted through October 5th and may be mailed to the Department of Public Works or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments will also be taken at the Public Hearing.
Note that the Draft Plan does not affect current refuse collection schedules, operation of residents’ convenience drop-off centers, or the operation, current rules and regulations, or current rates at the Beulah Landfill.
