Sealed bids will be received by DORCHESTER COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS at the Dorchester County Council Office BID BOX, 501 Court Lane, Room 108, Cambridge, Maryland 21613 until 2:00 P.M. local time on January 31,2023. The bids will be opened at the Dorchester County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Room 110, Cambridge, Maryland 21613 which will be publicly read out loud. Opening Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 2:00 pm.

REPLACEMENT OF BOAT RAMP AND BULKHEAD HOOPERSVILLE, SMITHVILLE & CROCHERON DORCHESTER COUNTY, MARYLAND
 
The work consists of construction of a replacement concrete boat ramp, bulkhead, and associated cofferdam at each location in Maryland.

Contract documents may be obtained from the Dorchester County Department of Public Works 5435 Handley Road, Cambridge, MD 21613, (410-228-2920) or by email snewcomb@docogonet.com.

In accordance with Chapter 286 of the 2010 Laws of Maryland (Chapter 286), all marine contractors performing or soliciting marine contractor services in the State of Maryland are required to be licensed with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE).

The Contractor shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing construction work of a similar nature.

The successful bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date specified in a written Notice to Proceed from the Owner, and to fully complete the projects within 365 days or as agreed.

Bidders shall visit the site before submitting a bid for this work and thoroughly familiarize themselves as to the accuracy and correctness of the same.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Owner for five (5) percent of the total amount of the bid.

A recommended pre-bid meeting will be held at Dorchester County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Room 110, Cambridge, Maryland 21613 on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 1:00pm to allow Bidders an opportunity to obtain information on the project from the Owner.

The Dorchester County Council hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement; bidders will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.

The Contractor, in performing the work furnished by this contract or furnishing the services provided herein, shall not discriminate against any person seeking employment with or employed by him because of race, creed, color or national origin.

The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive formalities, informalities and technicalities therein, and to take whatever bid they determine to be in the best interest of the County considering the lowest or best bid, quality of goods and work, time of delivery or completion, responsibility of bidders being considered, previous experience of bidders, or any other factors they deem appropriate.

Dorchester County is Tax Exempt and will require W9 and tax/business related information.

The CONTRACTOR specifically agrees to conform to all provisions of the Labor Law of the State of Maryland applicable to the employment of labor at the site of the project. Prevailing wage rates will apply if the total contract amount is $250,000 or greater. See Wage Instruction attachment.
