Beginning Salary Range $30,161 – $32,480 (annual)

This position is responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative and para-professional fiscal/clerical duties for the Emergency Services Department. This position works under the general guidance and supervision of the Emergency Services Director.

This position will be performing duties such as processing purchase orders and payment authorizations, assisting with daily work schedules of EMS staff; liaison with Human Resources regarding employee hiring; assisting ES Director with budget monitoring; coordinating and monitoring social media including job postings and drafting of public information/outreach especially in disaster operations; processing and overseeing the processing of grants of Federal and State funds for ES Department; coordinating and distributing information on special events that may affect ES; assists in maintaining and updating computer worksheets and departmental software system to track various functions for ES Director; prepares and oversees preparation of report for County, State and Federal government, etc. Duties listed are not all inclusive.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. College Degree Preferred

Experience: Three years of experience in clerical/secretarial work including use of computer software programs such as Word and Excel. Education may substitute for experience.

Preferred Experience: Experience with scheduling software, inventory management software, and social media management and using medical or emergency services terminology.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, and Other Special Requirements:
A valid Maryland Driver’s license.
